After saying goodbye to my bro Andrew, I head back to omotesando to grab a coffee then start shopping for my friends and family, and I was craving for some hot food, so I thought some katsu don will be great, my GPS just went crazy so I found a place not close to me but is like right next to a station, oh right, just do a random dinner and see how it goes.
Nothing fancy on the menu, pork loin, pork fillet, and a few seafood items, I got myself a pork fillet meal, small size, with ika (squid) and ebi (shrimp) plus a bottle or beer, I know it just cant go wrong!
Only bar counter is here, And a local only place (I was surprise they have an English menu to be honest), so I decided to sit down and look at the chef preparing for our meal, soak the meat In eggs, starch and breadcrumb with a little bit of message before they deep fried it, it was an awesome live performance.
I couldn’t believe a small portion means two fillet with like 4 inch wide each, the meat was tender and the sauce was really good, the shrimp is pretty good but I like the squid better, very nice texture, very tender in general but with a little bit of chewy texture, it was just awesome!
The miso soup with clams, simple but pretty neat!
My bill turns out to be 1820 yen, like 16 USD, I don’t think I can get a neat katsu don in hk with this price, I liked this place and is pretty easy to locate, so no doubt I will be back again, super value for money!
