If I didn’t remember wrong my first ever food picking experience was in NZ, the Bay of Islands while I was having my summer break from Year 12 to Year 13, and since I am in Japan during the strawberry season I have been Bugging MK to go Strawberry farming with me , which we end up went to Tukuihama (Yokosuka) for this fruit picking. About 45 minutes away from Yokohama Station. Good thing is they offer shuttle to pick you up from the farm.
It was about a 15 mins ride, believe it or not, even the weather was bad, there is still 400 pax on average visiting this place. They offer all you can eat for 30 minutes, our session was 1,700yen, the price is different depends on the season.
接駁巴士大概是10-15分鐘，雖然天氣不佳，但每天也有400人會前來呢!這裡供應30分鐘草莓放題，我們來的時間每位1,700日元，時間也會影響價位的!We got allocated to farm #5, another 5-8 minutes walk to there, half of the farm was blocked , but there are still a few lanes of fresh strawberry up for grabs. The helper would give you a bowl with some condensed milk before the strawberry hunting journey.
First of all, they are huge! Well, let me rephrase it, they can be really small, but then we are suppose to eat the mature one with relatively big size. Although we were given the condense milk, but the strawberry was sweet enough that we don’t actually need to dip the straberry in the condensed milk.
Lots of fun picking them and eating them, and I caught MK grabbed 7 pieces of strawberries and eating them in one goal so I filmed it!
Anyways, it was a really good experience, do book it in advance though, and that place only take cash, and if you want some fresh farm products you will be able to get it there too (pretty cheap according to MK)
